It all began with me trying to solve my hormonal issues.
For three years I had been experiencing insomnia, irritability, irregular and heavy cycles, constant headaches, low energy, inability to lose weight, sugar cravings...
I knew my adrenals were probably shot because I couldn't go to bed until 1 or 2 am in the morning. I would crash after lunch and then get a boost of energy at the end of the evening. I would stay up and only go to bed because I knew I had to. By 8 am the next morning, I couldn't get out of bed. But I had to. You see I home educate my 4 children.
How could I stay in bed expecting them to grow and learn to be mature adults if I wasn't there to guide them?
So I tried adding more healthy fats to my diet. I tried the Paleo diet. Then I tried an elimination diet. While these diets worked for the first couple of weeks, the results did not last. With all of them, I would lose 5-10 pounds and then crash because I was so hungry all the time. I craved carbs....
